4 die as car crammed with migrants dives off cliff in Greece
via Associated Press / Washington Post – Four people died during a police chase in northern Greece when an overcrowded smuggler’s car carrying eight migrants, including two in the trunk, plunged off a 90-foot cliff, authorities said Wednesday.

Two men, believed migrants, killed in Greece
Via Ekathimerini – Greek authorities say two people believed to be migrants who crossed the border from Turkey illegally have been killed after being hit by a passenger train in northeastern Greece.

257 undocumented migrants held across Turkey

Body of Man Believed to be Migrant Discovered Near Border
Via Greek Reporter – Greek police say the body of a man believed to be a migrant has been found in an abandoned building in the Evros mountainous border area in northern Greece.
Police said Wednesday that the man, believed to have been between 20 and 30 years old and of either African or Asian descent, was found on Tuesday in the building outside a mountain village in the Evros region, close to the Turkish border. More than 500 undocumented migrants captured across Turkey
Via Hurriyet Daily News – At least 547 undocumented migrants have been caught trying to reach Europe or enter Turkey illegally across the country, security officials said on Nov. 16.

Greece releases Dutch reporter ‘taken for smuggler’
Via AlJazeera – Dutch journalist Sakir Khader, who was detained on Monday at the Greek-Turkish border, has been released from police custody in Greece.
Khader, who was reporting on refugees crossing into Greece via Turkey, was handed a suspended five-month prison sentence on Tuesday for entering a restricting military area near the town of Didymoteicho without permission, Greek police told Al Jazeera. Turkey Detained more than 500 Illegal Migrants who were Heading for Bulgaria and Greece
Via Novinite – Turkish border authorities detained 575 illegal migrants and refugees who were preparing to cross illegally to Bulgaria and Greece. This was announced by the Security Directorate of the city of Edirne, reports sega.
Some of the illegal migrants were hiding in the villages of Orhanie, Sarakapanar and Bosnokoy, not far from the Bulgarian border. The other group of migrants was hiding in Uzunkopru, Ipsala and Meric, in the immediate vicinity of the Greek border, the police message said. They then state that all detainees – from Morocco, Pakistan, Egypt, Syria, Afghanistan and Myanmar – have been handed over to the migration authorities in the city of Edirne.
Greece sees rise in refugee, migrant arrivals in September
Via Ekathimerini – Police in northern Greece are reporting a rise the number of refugees and migrants illegally entering the country’s land border with Turkey during September. Police in Thessaloniki said Tuesday 2,428 people were recorded to have illegally entered Greece over the land border in September, compared to 1,497 in August.
